EGR Blockoff Plate

Exhaust - EGR Blockoff Plate

Our plate allows you to pull the EGR tube from the exhaust so that it will draw in fresh air instead of exhaust gas. The plate is then used to cap the exhaust on the header/manifold. Copper RTV recommended for optimum sealing. Exhaust side plate is threaded for use with factory bolt. Optional intake side is not threaded.

The proper way to install the plates so you should not get an SES light is to install the exhaust plate on the manifold, leave the EGR plugged in, but leave the exhaust side of the valve open to the atmosphere. Using this method will keep the PCM happy and you WILL NOT SET AN SES LIGHT or throw any codes! If you want to remove the EGR valve completely, you will also need the intake plate, however you will get an SES light, so you will need PCM programming.

With the EGR now drawing in fresh air your intake will stay cleaner and cooler. *Gas mileage will suffer about 1 MPG with this mod.

The intake blockoff plate is also used to block the PCV inlet on a Gen 5 blower when doing a Gen 5 swap on a Gen 3 blower car.

Nice Improvement!!

Put this block off plate on using the Ultra Copper. Just remember get it tight but don't over torque it. It would be easy to strip out. Also put the H-Body down pipe with 300 cell cat converter on. Had to weld it on because there was to much slump in the pipe with the clamp. Make sure to clean the down pipe out before installing. There were some metal shavings inside the pipe. So far so good no ses light FYI it is a 2001 Buick Lesabre. I have a L26 3800 heavily modified with ARP racing studs.
