This is a stock replacement LHU engine for your Buick Regal. In its stock form the LDK makes ~10 more HP than the LNF. The block itself is an improvement over the LNF Gen 2 block, and can handle up to and over 500whp, however the rods are much weaker than an LNF. We generally see the rods fail at around 320-350 wheel torque on our mustang dyno (do note that all dynos read differently, so this range can change wherever you're testing), however differences in fuel quality, tuning, and driver/equipment setup and use can see failures earlier or later. If you want to make more than 350wtq we would highly suggest our upgraded rods and pistons. We offer a full forged engine here

Ordering Options:

This comes as a direct replacement engine for a '11-'13 Regal GS with the LHU. If this is the vehicle you have, please select "Regal LHU" when ordering.

 

It does not come with an intake manifold or fuel rail/injectors, the stock K04 or a ZFR turbo is optional, however to run the ZFR in a Kappa (Sky/Solstice) it requires extensive modifications. (power steering reservoir relocated, custom wastegate bracket, compressor cover modifications)

You can simply bolt on your factory intake manifold, throttle body, and fuel rail/injectors.

Note: Warranty for this product includes a 1 year manufacturer's defect warranty. If a part fails you must reach out to us, remove the part, then send it back to us for inspection once an RMA (return merchandise authorization) is sent.

ZZP DOES NOT cover exterior costs such as labor, shipping, lost wages, rental car time, etc. 

Power related failures are also not covered under the engine's warranty. 

Important break in procedure:
We recommend running Comp Cams "break in" oil for the first 200 miles, you will need 7 quarts. Before you start the car with the new engine, we recommend that you fill with oil, then leave the injector harness unplugged and turn engine over until the oil pressure light goes out, or even better, use an oil pressure gauge. This ensures that you are starting the engine with full oil pressure.


When the engine is running in gear and at light throttle, bring it up to 4500rpm, then coast down to near idle(still in gear), then 5000, then 5500, then 6000, and 6500 each time letting it coast down to idle. This will help seat the rings. Then after a couple heat cycles, start running it under power.

LHU long block w New K04 Turbo install on Buick Verano.

The customer service was great , Turbo Tim and Ryan answered all the questions I had. Before and after buying the engine. Everything matched up perfectly. No modification were needed to swap out the old for the new. Beyond that I broke the engine with the oil that came with it. Now running Mobil 1. I also installed new intercooler, radiator and oil cooler with all new hoses and lines. Cleaned the mass air flow sensor. The car is now hitting 60 under 5 seconds. Only mods I have is flowmaster super 10 and I cut all the exhaust off but the cat . K and N filter. Iridium nGK and Agm 1000cca battery . Thanks can’t wait to see how good it will be a with a tune from Tim.
