Spacers work great! I had shorter dog bones installed while I found time to put these in and I could feel a difference. The spacers made the car drive better over the dog bones. I did have to open up the holes in the spacers, because they were slightly too close together. I also added locktite to the threads when I put the nuts back on, because there's not too much thread left on the mount with the spacer installed. All in all, I would recommend these over shorter dog bones.
double stacked lifters on a very low impala
the way the engine sits on a factory impala has the transmission pan hanging below the subframe, and I hit my transmission on a reflector and cracked it. A bit of custom fabrication allowed me to double stack these while replacing the transmission, and now the pan hangs safely above the subframe. double stacking was fairly simple on the transmission side, as the holes just needed to be widened slightly with a drill bit, then one spacer goes on the top stud, and one goes on the bottom studs. the motor side was a bit different as the mounting holes are different for the bottom. to solve this, I simply welded the spacer to the subframe where the mount sits, and added a 3/8" nut on the original studs that go through the subframe. great product, could've saved me $800 if I bought them sooner.
Trans mount spacer
The holes didn't line up. I had to drill it wider by about 1/8 inch.
