Well, there's not much to say. The original ones are plastic and WILL fail at some point. These aluminum replacements are good quality and should last for the rest of the car's life (2005 Pontiac Grand Prix with just over 100,000 miles)! Why GM didn't use aluminum in the first place is beyond me. I actually has these on my list of projects for "preventative maintenance", however they failed before I got around to it. My advice to you if you have an engine with the plastic elbows, REPLACE THEM NOW! If not, they may fail at a not so convenient time just like mine did. It's an easy job and is definitely worth it! Just FYI, I did use some sensor safe blue RTV on mine and let them sit overnight before I refilled and bled the coolant system. I did this because I saw a lot of people online saying that the o-rings may not be that great, but to each their own. Went in quick and no more leaks. I forgot to take pictures of them installed while I still had the alternator off, but you can get the gist of it from the pictures. Thanks again ZZP!

Got rid of my constant (and getting worse everyday) coolant leaks that ALL Impalas are SO well known for. Failing coolant elbows. Every Impala owner's future. Might happen now. Might happen later. But, IT'S GOING TO HAPEN EVENTUALLY. These were Dorman branded elbows. Very cheap and very well known. Super easy install and perfect fit the first time. Best little buy you can do for your beloved Impaler.
