ATS Intercooler Kit

SKU: ZZ-ATSFMIC

$599.99 Sale price

Regular price $599.99

Includes:

  • Intercooler with brackets
  • Silicone heavy duty replacement couplers
  • Premium stainless T-bolt clamps
  • Hot side charge pipe
  • Cold side charge pipe
  • All hardware needed to make the proper connections

This is a bolt on kit for your RWD or AWD ATS 2.0L turbo that replaces your hot and cold side charge pipes and front mount air to air intercooler.

It retains the use of your stock bypass valve. There haven't been any measured gains by replacing the bypass valve with an aftermarket BOV (Blow Off Valve).

The stock IC core dimensions are 21 5/8" w x 16" h x 1 1/4" thick and the ZZP core dimensions are 23 1/2" w x 9 1/2" h x 4" thick. Please take into account that this measurements do not include the end tanks. Will not fit on 2.0L CTS's as there is not enough room for the larger core with the stock bumper cover.

Nice Fit

Instructions weren't too clear, but I know my way around a car. Fits great and looks good. Now I just need to find some mesh to show it off

For a novice shade tree mechanic, I couldn't have done this without help from a friend, luckily I had two. Reading the instructions and looking at the pictures, prior to the install put my mind at ease that we would be able to accomplish this in a single afternoon. The installation of the new parts wasn't too time consuming, it was the removal of the stock parts that gave us the most trouble. To get the stock intercooler to drop out the bottom of the car we had to break a couple plastic clips, not a problem because the stock intercooler was going in the trash. The steel worm clamp on the stock hot side charge pipe at the turbo was positioned and rotated at the factory in a way that made it's removal a pain, ended up just drilling the teeth off the side of the worm gear with a cordless drill to force the clamp to release. Didn't have any trouble at all mounting the ZZP Intercooler, the brackets are labeled and everything was an exact fit. The new hot and cold charge pipes fit perfectly but will require quite a bit of elbow grease to get them on, make sure your car is positioned correctly and secure on your lift or jack stands and rear tires are chocked. Be patient with the MAP sensor, use gentle but firm pressure to get it to pop into the cold side charge pipe. I gathered some temp data using a Bluetooth OBD-II scanner, this intercooler is definitely doing a great job cooling the air from the turbo and I am looking forward to seeing how it performs come summer. This was the most difficult thing I have done yet to my car but I am glad I did it, I now have a lot more confidence in myself to take on more upgrades and I am looking forward to getting a downpipe and exhaust next.
