Cobalt Eibach Lowering Springs

Fast shipping! The springs were fairly easy to install on factory shocks and seem to be of great quality. They lowered my 08 Cobalt exactly 2" in both the front and rear. The ride is quite a bit stiffer than the factory springs but not horrible like i've felt in other lowered cars. The body roll is significantly reduced along with reduced brake dive and acceleration lift. Bottom line is these are a great addition to the cobalt for handling and looks. I cant wait to see how it looks with my new 20" wheels!

Great for the HHR SS

Ok so I bought this kit for my HHR, and after 7 hours of agony the project is done. My car looks awesome! If you choose this kit, you will not be disappointed. You will get 1 1/2 inch drop in the front and around 1 1/4 inch drop in the back. The project was not difficult but rather strenuous. I hurt my wrist once and by the time I was finished, my whole body was in pain so expect that if you do this in your driveway. You also will need two people for a certain part of this project. You will need someone to stand on your rear axle while the other person is underneath the car pulling the rear spring out. The rear axle on the HHR will not drop down on its own once you loosen the shock absorber bolt. But when somebody is standing on your axle, the spring will come out easily no matter which side you are on. Also you will need a breaker bar or a heavy duty impact gun in order to get the shock absorber bolts loose. They were the absolute worst and most stubborn to loosen. Now moving on to the front, that part is actually easier. The struts come out easily. You will need two jacks for this. I used a friend's spring compressor tool to safely remove the springs. I used my cordless impact gun to loosen the bolt that holds the top of the strut together. I would highly recommend that you pay close attention as to how exactly the top of the strut comes apart. There are four pieces and you can easily forget how they all go back together. I would take a picture with your phone. The actual Eibach Springs went on my struts with ease. Once I got the car back together and set it on the ground, my first impression left me speechless. I could not help but to grin. As far as ride quality, I immediately noticed a difference as soon as I backed it out of my driveway. The car behaves completely different on the road now and it's for the good. It feels more like a go-kart now. When the car is sitting, it looks sinister now. Completely different stance. It makes me want to customize it more. Remember this is for the SS version of the HHR. If you have a regular HHR, I'm sure this will work but it will sit lower to the ground because you obviously are not rolling on 18 inch wheels like I am. So remember doing the back is harder than doing the front for this project. You would think that it would be the other way around but it isn't. I would recommend these Springs. ZZ performance is the best company to go through. They helped me tremendously through this transition. Very good people. Good luck and i hope this info helps whomever tries it. I'm an amateur so if I can do this project, you certainly can:) Happy Motoring....Ecotechs rule!!

Fantastic Springs!

These are great if you don't want to spend the money on coilovers. Not too low, stiffen up in the corners quite a bit. Install isn't too difficult if you know what you are doing.
