In stock form the Grand Prix has 11" rotors and single piston cast iron brake calipers. This is a far cry from a performance braking system and barely meets what we would consider minimum requirements to stop the car. This is a great, affordable brake upgrade. Many users have learned that the brakes found on late model Camaros and Firebirds are nearly compatible. We take the F-Body caliper kit and modify it so it simply bolts onto your car with no modifications needed.

The F-Body setup features dual piston aluminum calipers that operate over a 12" rotor. Dual piston calipers allow much greater braking with the same fluid pressure applied. This makes for accurate, responsive braking with less effort. Using aluminum keeps these calipers 5 pounds lighter than the stock iron calipers! ZZPerformance is proud to bring you an easy to install, complete package to upgrade your W body.

Includes:

  • (2) assembled PBR dual piston aluminum calipers
  • (2) Caliper brackets
  • (2) banjo bolts
  • (4) Copper crush washers
  • Optional: Standard or our cross drilled/slotted/zinc coated rotors
  • Optional: Stainless front brake lines (longer version)

 For W Body's that are already equipped with 12" rotors, these calipers will bolt on and drastically increase stopping power and reduce weight.

For older W body cars with 11 inch rotors, you will need to upgrade to 12 inch rotors to use these calipers.

We recommend using blue loc tite on the caliper bracket bolts.

These will not fit with 97 crosslace wheels.

We are now using calipers from GM that have the correct 14mm mounting bolts in them. This means that your F-body kit will use the same factory bolts as your stock caliper bracket.
    No more downsizing to a 12mm bolt.
    No more adapter sleeve for installation.

Great rotors

I've had these drilled and slotted rotors with the calipers and power stop pads on my car for 15,000 miles now. These rotors really hold up, I'm not easy on my brakes be any means but after what I put these things through, they still haven't discolored nor warped, they work amazingly. The brake pads are almost gone though, will be replacing with ACDelco pads because these produce huge amounts of brake dust and leave a lot of sponginess in the pedal. I tried bleeding the system multiple times to no avail.

Great improvement in stopping power

Noticeable difference in braking especially with the powerstop pads and braided lines. Easy installation. Only down fall is there is no coating on the parts and as soon as it rained the caliper brackets rusted up and aluminum pitted. I suggest you paint prior to install. My factory components had 180K on them w/o corrosion.

Buy the longer steel braided

Buy the longer steel braided brake lines! You'll appreciate it. Great upgrade for my 97 GTP.

Exceptional Improvement over Stock Brakes!

All of the hardware was in great condition, well lubricated/greased, and install went very smoothly. This brake package will make a dramatic difference over the stock single piston 10.9" setup. Highly recommend for anyone with a stock or modded GTP. Great overall package/product from ZZP. Would buy again for any grand prix in the future.

Nice upgrade

I have a 2002 regal GS with a new long block and the usual upgrades, headers, 3.5 pulley, CAI, tuned PCM, complete exhaust, ported S/C case and living in Asheville NC where the altitude can change 1000 ft in just a few miles braking has always been a challenge on mountain roads. Semi's pull off the road to cool their brakes. Since installing this upgrade I have no concern of slowing down in steep inclines. I didn't buy the powder coated calipers you can paint them yourself with caliper paint and clearcoat. Should of bought the steel brake lines. If you are a flat lander or a hillbilly you will love these brakes
