This is a replacement flex section with flange for all 2005-2012 Chevy Cobalts (Except for turbocharged 2.0 2008+) or 04+ Saturn Ion Redline 2.0 We typically sell performance downpipes, but this is for people who broke their stock flex section which is very common on these cars and have a stock car who just want to keep their car in stock form. The stock flex is weak and commonly breaks from the factory especially if it is a manual transmission car and instead of forcing people to buy an entire downpipe like the dealer would make you do for over $350 to $400 you can take this piece to an exhaust shop and have them cut off the old flex section and weld this into your existing downpipe so you can retain your factory catalytic converter. You may see some others sell something similar, but as you can tell from picture the piping coming out of this one has a bend in it which you need for an easier install. Other sellers sell them with a tiny straight piece of pipe at the end of it and that is not a very good design because it would be more difficult to cut and weld it in at the bend of the downpipe.
This includes a one piece flange, piping, flex section and we'll throw in a gasket.
We now have two options available:
2.0/2.4 is for the LSJ (Cobalt SS/Ion Redline) and those vehicles equipped with a 2.4 LE5 engine.
2.2 is for L61/LAP vehicles. The bend/straight section is slightly different from the 2.0/2.4 version.
2005-20012 Chevy Cobalt except for the 2008+ 2.0 Turbocharged car. This will work for the 2.0 supercharged car, 2.2 and 2.4 engine cars naturally aspirated engines
Will NOT work for 2008+ 2.0L turbocharged engines
The 2.0 Supercharged engines have slightly larger piping on the stock downpipe (2.5"). This is 2.25". It will work, but needs a little modification that your exhaust shop should be able to handle. For the rest of the cars it is a direct easy weld on application.
