Installed with the bushings, shifting has a much more solid feel to it, even though it is not a true short shifter it definitely made a difference in the throw. Any drink will now fit in the cupholder with the shifter staying out of the way.
This does make the shift shorter. And paired with the solid shifter bshings it feels great.
Definitely a difference over stock!! A cheap change that's actually worth it without going to a full short shifter
This was so easy to install. For anyone doing it, don't bother with the cable clamps. Just loosen all the bolts and screws enough to get access to the bottom of the shifter. Recommend solid shifter bushings when installing this
This is a good quality part and a great value for what you're receiving. I'm a machinist by trade and I nitpick the small details 99% of what I'm currently going to pick at will be ignored by the general public. I will say I'm completely satisfied with my part and can see how or why things were done the way they were. The finish is great on the turned areas. You can tell the main body is raw barstock as you can see the jaw marks from the chuck. A cost saving measure and doesn't effect the finished product and no one will see anything once it's installed. The inside diameter is a perfect slip fit for the stock shifter. I did have to go in and deburr the threaded holes as the shifter wouldn't fully seat. Once that was cleaned out the shifter mod went right on to the factory shifter. The fit was excellent. The installation was straight forward. Installing the clip onto the ball was the most difficult part. It is a tight fit. With some patience the clip went onto the new ball. Once everything was assembled you can tell the difference right away. The throws are much short and feels much better than the factory configuration. I would buy the mod again.
