Price is right
Half the price of other replacements, no miles driven yet so we'll see. Fitment was kind of weird, the horizontal mount was a little ****-eyed so installation with the struts still in place was a slight trick but worked, 4 stars just due to that, again I'll see if I'd get another set of these down the road, apparently any type you get only lasts 5 years or so...
front bushing inserts fall apart or work there way out
so the overall zzp experince was great! But the experince with this product was not. with putting under 200 miles on these lower control arms the passanger side front bushing delaminated from the metal insert (all the bushing are the ones the bolt goes up through or the bushing closet to the radiator). on the drivers side the metal insert that is pressed in to the control arm worked it way out about a 1/8 inch. waiting on the passenger side to get warrantied. driver side is up to me to fix. would not buy these again! would spend the money and get the tan control arms off rock auto for about $100.00 per control arm
Just like always, ZZP nailed it out of the park on this. Great price and quality stuff here.
Good maintenance choice
Fit perfectly, quality seems as good as most other control arms I've seen for the W-Body cars and the price is certainly good. The ball joint is not greasable, but I have never worn out a ball joint on these cars, the bushings always end up torn first. I just fill the ball joint boot with Amsoil grease before installing them by sliding a grease needle in between the ball joint stud and boot and this seems to be adequate. Our 2003 Monte Carlo has needed control arm bushings every 5-6 years since we bought it in 2003.
