It was designed on the 98+ 3800 Series II and III WBody (Grand Prix, Regal, Intrigue, Monte Carlo, Impala). It doesn't fit the 1997 style PCM core without modification and if you have a '98 specific GTP/GS, it will require a 99+ coolant bottle for proper fitment (Note: the '99+ cars already come with the newer style coolant bottle).

How to order your air box:

  • Series II fits the '98-03 Grand Prix, '97+ Regal/Intrigue, '00+ Monte Carlo/Impala with or without an intercooler.
  • Series III fits the '04+ Grand Prix however the intake tube is different if you are running an intercooler or LQ4 maf sensor on your car. If you are running an intercooler on your Series III car, you will also need to run our version 2 throttle body turn down adapter. Series III intake shown in last photo.

  • Air box with lid
  • Intake duct rotates for different throttle body setups
  • PCM tray
  • 4" heat shielded tube
  • (3) hose clamps
  • ZZP 4" inlet 9" cone filter

Silver CAI has been discontinued. It now comes in wrinkled black.

Does not fit the HBody, Bonneville, Park Ave, LaSabre.

Poor design

From reading the instructions to watching the installation video I figured it’d be a breeze to install . Boy was I wrong . In the video it appears she’s working on an older Grand Prix (97 body style) and I have an 04 so trying to follow step by step didn’t work so well. The holes on the bottom of the airbox didn’t it line up whatsoever and the fastener closest towards the radiator is nearly impossible to get to . And lastly the decals on tubing were backwards and aren’t visible from the front of the car

ZZP CAI on ‘05 Monte Carlo SS

Installation was straightforward and took less than 30 minutes, about half of which involved jimmying the PCM back into place. Now the car breathes much much easier, runs cooler, and I’ve even noticed a slight increase in gas mileage. No issues at all after about a month of daily driving. Intake looks great in the engine bay and the M90 blower is louder than ever. Passengers now always comment on that “weird noise” when I get on the throttle :) Fun and quality product overall!!!

Looks great!!

At first the top cover wouldn't fit in place, so it took me a while to fit in since the cover screws wouldn't go in. Once i get 2 of them in the 3rd one wouldn't latch because the clip that latches it in place was broken. Had to use a long screwdriver going through the wheel well to hold the clip so i could screw it in place. Looks awesome and make it look a whole lot better than stock!!!

All bad

Well were to start. Totally bad experience with this company. Order this item and selected the bottom option. And come to find out this option only ships with the Q4 maf sensor couplers not the standard OEM size. Contacting customer service is poor. Said I ordered wrong parts. When last option does not state it is only for the bigger maf sensor.

Excellent Purchase!

Purchased this for my '03 NA Regal. Loved it! Definitely better throttle response, and a MUCH throatier sound. Definitely returning to ZZP for more performance parts!
