ZZP Big Wheel Turbo V2

SKU: ZZ-BWTRBO

$999.99 Sale price

Regular price $999.99

This is a simple bolt on larger upgraded turbo for your 1.4L turbo Cruze/Sonic. The factory turbocharger is known for the exhaust housing cracking or the wastegate not being preloaded correctly causing slow spool. When you only have a 1.4 liter engine, you know how important spool is, our goal was to make an upgraded turbo that doesn't spool much, if any, slower than stock but still makes more power.

The compressor wheel (inducer/exducer) is 18, and the turbine wheel is 12 percent larger than stock, and finally the wastegate diaphragm is 2psi higher than stock. Our Sonic gained over 30whp and well over 50 ft lbs with just this turbo swap. Depending on your current setup (mods, available octane, ethanol content, overall power) tuning and injectors may be required. If you are running the stock injectors, make sure to scan the car to monitor injector pulse width and air fuel ratio.

This is a new bolt on turbo, not core based, and it comes with everything needed for the install.

Game changer

Put this mod on about 3 months ago, already have injen cold air intake and full exhaust no cats. And with hp tuners tuning I have so far made 21 pounds of boost and the spool is just out of this world. The spool time is a little bit longer than it used to be but hey that's the nature of a bigger turbo. All in all zzp knocked it out of the park on this one. Highway pulls are an absolute riot with this add on. But to those who do install this I highly recommend using hp tuners to dial it in just right and using a wide band gauge to monitor afr. Hey zzp! How about an even bigger one?

Must have

Love everything about it, my chevy cruze feels like it has a bigger engine, boost builds so much faster, the spooling sound is amazing if u have an intake, no longer have to downshift to accelerate at highways speeds, i noticed a 6 mpg increase on my 40mille highway drive to work, and all this is on a stock tune, can't wait to put bigger injectors and tune it to get big power, if you are debating on buying it, just do it, it's worth every dollar i spent on it.

It's bigger alright!

so this turbo definitely holds boost better than the stock and certainly is a little bigger. the noise it makes while spooling is nice, and distinct. One caution to potential buyers, though this product is exactly what it says it is and it's a great product. you will ALWAYS have to rev higher as the turbo gets bigger. generally in a lot of places here in Colorado it means I have to run a gear lower if i'm climbing than i used too. It also means the mid and top of the rpm range is insanely better than before, so it's trade in some ways. overall though it is faster, quite a bit faster.
