Sometimes performance doesn't come from the flashy parts that we expect, they come from small improvements made through years of testing and knowledge around a specific platform. Our ZZP LTG fuel rail spacers are one such example. During our years of LTG testing, tuning, and building we discovered that slightly spacing out the injectors from the head could yield a reduction in KR by up to 2-3 degrees. These injectors spacers reduce the amount of injector protrusion into the combustion chamber, keeping temps at the injector tip down.
These spacers are installed in all of our ZZP forged long blocks, ZZP shop cars, as well as customer cars built in house. We're now sharing this knowledge, and small but mighty secret with the LTG community. These spacers are inexpensive to produce, but expensive to discover. And because the community has supported ZZP, we’re making this innovation affordable and accessible to everyone.
Installation is easy and straightforward. Remove the injector rail and install the spacers on the fuel rail bolt holes underneath the rail. You may find it easier to put a dab of RTV on the spacers to help hold them to the rail during re-installation. KR reduction is not guaranteed as KR is based on a variety of factors, however we consistently see better performance with this one small upgrade.
