We know that digging into the world of modifying your car can be overwhelming, especially deciding where to start. Here at ZZPerformance we want to make it easy to begin modifying your LNF 2.0L turbo equipped Cobalt SS or HHR SS! Our Stage 2 kit includes the parts necessary to make more power, sound great, and retaining great reliability. This kit will add approximately 40-60whp and 60-80ft/lbs of torque compared to a stock car (fuel dependent).

ZZPerformance has been tuning the 2.0L Direct Injection LNF since the vehicle’s release in 2008. In that time, we have come up with the perfect formula for making power and building a fun car, regardless of what you are intending to do with it. This kit is a great starting point for you to continue to mod from and has parts that are compatible with other ZZPerformance products such as the ZFR Turbos and Z Series Z54/Z57 turbos.
This kit keeps near factory reliability while giving a substantial increase in power. The factory 2.75 bar MAP sensors are known to be a failure point with the vehicle, and the factory OS isn’t the best for making big power. With the ZZP tune, in conjunction with the GM sensor upgrade you also get the GM Upgraded OS which is pivotal for moving forward with your build.
This stage 2 kit fits:
- 2008 – 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt SS
- 2008 – 2010 Chevrolet HHR SS
HHR Note: Make sure to select your transmission, as the downpipe options are different.
Note: this kit is intended for stock turbo (K04) cars.
Refundable Core Charge: We can ship you a used ECM core that you can simply swap with your factory ECM. If we ship you a used ECM (and TCM if automatic HHR) core then you would have to pay a refundable core charge ($200 and $250 respectively) which is returned to you when you ship us back your original core(s). Cores must be unlocked and in working condition. If a returned core is deemed un-useable we will inform you, send the core back, and you will not be refunded.
If you want to avoid paying a core charge you can either ship us your core(s) to flash and return, or if you have HPTuners we can email you a file to upload yourself. If you select "I'm sending in my PCM core" your order will be held until we receive your core(s) to flash. When choosing this option you must send us YOUR CORE from YOUR vehicle, not a random PCM from a junkyard or eBay. There are advantages to sending in your core, like not having to do a security relearn, no crank relearn, etc. If you send us a core that is not out of your vehicle it will likely not work correctly.
If your car has an automatic transmission, we will need your ECM and TCM cores so we can flash both units OR you would need to select "Refundable core charge". If you choose the refundable ECU core charge we will send you a used ECM and a used TCM. When you send your original ECM and TCM back to us you will receive your refundable $250 back.
