F40 Race Clutch Assembly
This is the perfect clutch upgrade for your '11+ 6 speed Regal/Opel Insignia or any Cobalt/Ion/HHR with our ZZP F40 transmission conversion.
We start with a Fidanza custom 1 piece aluminum single mass flywheel that only weighs 12.5 pounds, the stock steel dual mass flywheel weighs 26 pounds. This custom Fidanza flywheel allows us to bolt on a South Bend Clutch (Clutchmasters for Stage 5) high performance pressure plate and disc that will work with your F40 trans. The one drawback of running this setup is since this flywheel is single mass instead of the factory dual mass it will have a noticeable rattling noise at idle.
Note: Race clutch assembly uses a Clutch Masters pressure plate which will be white in color. Stage 3-4+ will have the red pressure plate.
Stage 3 comes with a 1600# pressure plate and full face ceramic disc. (supports up to 350 ft lbs)
Stage 4 comes with a 2100# pressure plate and 6 puck ceramic disc. (supports up to 400 ft lbs)
Stage 4 plus comes with a 2300# pressure plate and 6 puck ceramic disc. (supports up to 450 ft lbs)
This kit retains the factory F40 throw out bearing. Comes with alignment tool, pressure plate bolts, and flywheel bolts.
This is a complete bolt in assembly.
Torque Spec Flywheel to crank 39 ft lbs and 25 degrees with red Loctite. (OEM F40 flywheel bolts)
Torque Spec Pressure plate to Flywheel is 22 ft lbs.
