The factory o2 housing on the 1.4 turbo Ecotec motor has been shown to be quite restrictive. Our 2.5" Stainless steel high-flow version has been dyno proven to produce gains of up to 8 horsepower at the wheels. This is a gain of more than 6 percent! This easy bolt-on modification re-uses the factory V-band clamp where it attaches to the turbo. Comes with everything needed to install just replacement bolts and nuts. Dec 2014: It comes with 2 o2 bungs, and a plug in case you want to add a wideband o2 sensor later.

Note: This O2 housing does not include a catalytic converter, we move the cat to our mid pipe if you have a Cruze, if you do not install our midpipe or 2nd cat section with this product it will set check engine light without ECU programming. If you have a Sonic, you will require tuning to not set a check engine light.

For a complete street setup that does not require ECU programming, see our O2 housing/mid pipe combo. This part fits the 1.4 Chevy Sonic, Cruze, and Buick Encore.

We recommend replacing the v-band clamp while installing the O2 housing since they are a common failure point.

Installed on Cruze sound clip

Welds were clean. Don’t forget to purchase the v-band clip with it.

Quality part!

Really made a difference for the throttle response, I installed it before the v3 turbo (which I’m installing as soon as my injectors are shipped back after being tested) and you can feel the turbo spooling quicker but the turbo is on the way out the door right now so hopefully I’ll have a better understanding of it’s full potential after the new turbo is on!

Not as easy install as some would have you believe...

First of all, you are on your own to figure out how to install this as there is no clear instructions included. Instead you can google and find some videos that do a great job of telling you what they're going to do, then cutting to them having completed the work. The people claiming they did this in less than an hour are either veteran mechanics who already know the ins and outs of the car or they got lucky. There is a bolt that you cannot easily get access to (at least not on a '15 sonic ltz), if you try from the hood there is a pipe in the way so you cannot do something simple like get an extension arm and remove the nut. So you're going to be on your back under the car trying to wedge your hand into a tight space to remove a most likely rusted on bolt. In the end I had to cut the bolt in order to remove the old downpipe. Lessons learned: I think if I had gone for the two bolts that are holding the downpipe to the frame first, then removed the 3 bolts from the mid pipe and did the clamp last that might have made my life easier. My theory is because I left the hardest bolt until last it had all the weight of the part on it so it was extra difficult to remove while also being corroded. Maybe I was unlucky but I just wanted to come and give my pov because when I read the reviews I thought I was going to be done in an hour or 2 tops and that was not the case. Now that its on I do notice some more growl from the engine and this plus a new tune has really brought this car back to life. I still recommend the part I just wish I had been given some better guidance and would have saved me some time and frustration.
