Our ZZPerformance 1.4L rocker guard kit is essential for your high horsepower 1.4L LUV/LUJ build. As you increase boost, especially on the smaller frame turbos that the 1.4 requires for drivability, you increase backpressure in the turbine/exhaust manifold. This backpressure fights against the valve springs, valve, and subsequently the remainder of the valvetrain. Higher backpressure levels and increased peak RPM can lead to the rockers "kicking" off of the lifter and valve tip. Without a rocker guard in place these kicked rockers can end up causing excessive wear or failure of other valvetrain components, potentially resulting in a need to rebuild the head. 

The rocker guard installs onto the existing cam caps and fits under the stock valve cover with no modification needed. 

Fits: 2012-2020 Chevrolet Sonic 1.4, 2011-2016.5 Chevrolet Cruze 1.4, and all other 1.4L LUV/LUJ/LUH engines.
