The stock Sonic suspension is a far cry from a performance setup; it's very apparent from the first time you drive one of these cars. The downfall of being a small economy car is you get, obviously, economy suspension. However, over the years as we've driven, raced, and tracked these cars we've come to learn that they are very solid handling cars with the right upgrades. Pair these coilovers with our ZZP rear sway bar, adjustable sway bar end links, and one of our brake upgrades and you've turned your squishy econo car into a handling and tracking machine.

Our coilovers can be adjusted from stock height to 3-4" lower than stock. If you're like Turbo Tim or Ashley you can go from perfect fitment in the summer to near stock ride height in the winter for blasting through the snow. Damping adjustment can be fine tuned for your particular height and tire fitment. The lower the damping is set the smoother the ride, however if you're looking for perfect tire to fender fitment you might have to crank the damping up to not damage those precious rear quarters. Even if you do not change ride heights, playing with damping can get you different handling characteristics; if you're looking for more oversteer on track or auto-x then crank that rear damping up.

During our testing we tried many different spring heights and spring rates, ultimately landing on 6kg front and 4kg rear. These spring rates, combined with our chosen spring heights, and shocks/struts that are valved specifically to these spring rates and chassis mean you will get excellent ride quality while retaining fantastic performance. Ride height adjustability is done via the shock body in the front, meaning spring pre-load is preset for the optimal combination of ride quality and handling. Rear height adjustment is done via the included high/low adjuster , and preload is set via your rear shock body. Front camber can be adjusted at the knuckle mounting point with our slotted lower mount; a camber bolt can be used for additional camber if needed.

Featuring:
  • Road noise isolators on top and bottom of front springs
  • Height adjustment front and rear
  • 32 clicks of damping adjustment, front and rear
  • 2 year best in class ZZP warranty
  • 6kg front spring rate, 4kg rear spring rate
  • Monotube construction
  • Linear damping curve
  • Simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment via damping knobs
  • Front camber adjustment done via slotted lower mount

We offer double the warranty of BC's and other competitors, 2 years against any defect. This shows how much we stand behind our product. Our coilovers also come with more damping adjustment range so you can fine tune for your specific build and desired ride quality. Our coils were built with every climate in mind; being based in Michigan we know how much the elements affect suspension parts, so we made sure the welds are up to our standards as well as the powder coated lower collars are reinforced to withstand rust. All other components are anodized, or powder coated to resist rust. We know that you're going to love everything about these coilovers.

Note: You will have to re-use some of your stock components when installing these coilovers. You will disassemble the stock rubber top hat/bearing assembly (removing the metal lower portion) to fit into the included billet top hat adapter. Then you will attach the coilover with that top hat as per normal, installs like a stock strut at that point. Part number for the stock top hat is 42725624 if you'd like to purchase a new one(s).

Fits: 2012-2020 Chevy Sonic. Fits hatchback and sedan, 1.4L and 1.8L.
